If you walk into a Chevy showroom and ask which 2026 Silverado 1500 trim is best, you will get a different answer from every salesperson. At Webb Chevy Oak Lawn we sell more than 600 Silverados a year, and the trim ladder really does break down predictably by buyer type once you understand what each step gets you.

2026 Silverado WT (Work Truck)

The Work Truck trim is built for fleet and contractor use. It features a vinyl floor for easy hose-down cleanup, cloth bench seating, steel wheels, and the basic 8-inch driver display. Standard engine is the 2.7L Turbo-Max. Most fleet buyers add the trailering package and the spray-in bedliner. WT is the strongest fleet-rebate trim on the ground at Webb Oak Lawn.

Best for: Cook County contractors, municipal fleets, commercial service.

Silverado Custom

Custom takes WT and adds body-color trim, a chrome grille, alloy wheel options, the larger 11-inch infotainment screen on most builds, keyless entry, and remote start. It is the cheapest “looks retail” Silverado on the lot and a popular first-truck choice for younger Oak Lawn buyers.

Best for: First-truck buyers, budget-conscious retail.

Silverado LT (volume retail)

LT is the trim two out of three retail Silverado buyers at Webb Chevy Oak Lawn select. It includes a 13.4-inch center touchscreen, the 12.3-inch reconfigurable driver display, heated cloth seats, dual-zone climate, available Super Cruise, and the LT Convenience Package with power adjustable pedals and HD rear vision camera. Crew Cab with the 5.3L V8 is the configuration we keep in stock at all times.

Best for: Most retail buyers. The right answer if you are not sure.

Silverado RST

RST is LT plus the blackout package: black grille inserts, black bowties, body-color bumpers, 20-inch wheels, dark accents, and a more aggressive overall look. Mechanically it shares the LT’s engine choices and tech. RST is the most-requested style upgrade at our Oak Lawn store.

Best for: Style-driven daily drivers who would not buy a truck without dark wheels.

Silverado LTZ

LTZ is the step into real luxury. Heated and ventilated leather seating, heated steering wheel, the 10-speaker Bose audio system, perforated leather, premium interior trim, and the Convenience Package II. The 5.3L V8 is standard and the 6.2L V8 and Duramax diesel become available with the right packages.

Best for: Families upgrading from LT, frequent highway drivers.

Silverado High Country

High Country is the top of the standard Silverado lineup. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance is included. Standard premium leather, unique chrome trim, panoramic sunroof availability, 22-inch wheels, and the High Country grille. Most High Country buyers pick the 6.2L V8 or the Duramax diesel.

Best for: Long-distance commuters, frequent towing customers, luxury daily-drive buyers.

Silverado ZR2 (factory off-road)

ZR2 is the trail-built Silverado. Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, locking front and rear differentials, 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, a unique front fascia, skid plates, and a 6.2L V8 standard. ZR2 allocation is tight at our store, so we recommend a pre-order conversation if it is your target trim.

Best for: Off-road, hunting, weekend trail, southwest Michigan dunes.

1. Will you tow more than 7,000 pounds regularly? If yes, look at LTZ or above with the 6.2L V8 or Duramax.
2. Do you want hands-free driving on I-294 or I-355? Then LT with the Super Cruise add or High Country.
